From an early age, we have created the routine for our Mariana to express herself through imagery, providing materials, supports, instruments, but essentially "creating" specific moments: experiences with paints conducted by the "babysitter" (she an artist too) to "kill time and the homesickness of the Parents"; vacation graphic diary (one drawing per day exploring different materials); learning the numbers by making cutting and gluing of materials, for example... THE LAST TWO WEEKS The last two weeks were very special!  Susana and me have been has invited guest speakers at the Metropolia University international Design week, in Helsinki Finland. We presented Susana’s research on “Inverse future” - connecting Speculative and Critical Design to create today’s design interventions and actions. We visit and had a very nice meeting in Aalto University Helsinki with the Research & Innovation services to prepaid possible agreement on sharing research themes, models and projects considering the new Ph.D in Design & Innovation program (under FCT accreditation at the moment). I have run another International Business School for Karel de Grote University in Antwerp, innovation opportunies intensive course, were students from different parts of the world emerge in the Slow Design Thinking approach to change their mindset and attitude towards learning and becoming entrepreneurs of the future. The future of education as a centralised challenge in the Design process is not done with repetition of formulas, nor is it done with pre-defined card games! Most of the time we think that a set of words are only from our personal universe, family or if we want, of our individual and intimate forum ... Words like Passion, Friendship, Gratitude, Fellowship or even Honesty are some examples of concepts that are far removed from the day to day of organisations and companies ... Why? I think that, in our professional context, we try to defend ourselves from exposing emotions or even exposing ourselves to disappointments. On the one hand, we live daily with people we do not know, on the other hand, we try not to create too many expectations that can later be defrauded and in this way limit our action and our relational motivation. We want to share our vision on Fake Design Thinking. In end of the article an example is given from yesterday Co-create EU project Pitch presentation at Milan Design Fair 2018, but first let me make same personal initial statements on the Fake Design Thinking issue! This week I felt the need to write with a perspective of "looking back" at analyzing the way forward. In my first article this week, I focused on my research path, now I want to share thoughts and learning from teaching, whose career is now 20 years ... I was hired by IADE to begin teaching design project, exactly in the second half of 1998. I was actively working at NOVODESIGN - Design Agency, already with a full and hours-long work hours and "no space" for my personal life, when I received the call from Professor Diamantino Abreu, in his name and in the name of the coordinator of the project chairs António Cruz Rodrigues, invited me to teach at that institution where I had been a student ... The decision was easy, I just asked my boss if i should accept this challenge and he wisely replied: "Of course, Americo you have a sense of responsibility for which I know you will not fail with the commitments here in the Company, so go forward Men"... ...

Looking back, re-seeing my research design career, what has been my "Guidance"? what do I see today in the light of what I "know" and lived "? what has been what I did not see at the time on the path that brought me here where I am today? what I would do exactly same way and what would I do differently? What were my founding principles? would I ever relinquish them for the positive and positive results they brought me? what value has been structuring and the guiding thread of my way of being in science and specifically in the science of DESIGN?
